Closing the Gap: Sexual and Reproductive Health Service Delivery and Advocacy in Southwest Kenya is a two-year project implemented by Planned Parenthood Global, the international division of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, with support from the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation.
Planned Parenthood Global is partnering with KMET and four other local service delivery organizations and two advocacy organizations to implement the project.
The service delivery organizations are Kenya Medical Education Trust (KMET) and Lwala Community Health Centre (LCHC), Matibabu Foundation Kenya (MFK), Nyarami VCT Centre, and Omega Foundation (OF), while the advocacy partners are the Network of Adolescents and Youth of Africa (NAYA- Kenya), and Reproductive and Rights Alliance (RHRA).
The project’s overall objective is to increase awareness of, access to, and use of quality family planning (FP) and Post Abortion Care (PAC) services in high need communities within Kisumu, Migori, and Siaya counties in southwest Kenya. The project has a strong focus on strengthening the capacity of partners to provide facility-based FP and PAC services and advocate for expansion of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) rights and services.
