Safe Space Project

Safe Space project is a youth for youth project started in April 2009 that targets vulnerable teenage girls from the age of 14 years to 22 years of age. The project empowers the girls through entrepreneurial skills training, reproductive health and food security workshops.

Safe Space was initiated in order to equip vulnerable teenage girls with entrepreneurial skills. The project vision is to have young professionals with sustainable futures. Safe Space Project is a complex offering salon, tailoring and catering services. There are also reproductive health services, sale of nutrient dense flour and food security workshop.  The project beneficiaries are vulnerable teenage girl and the community at large.

It is envisaged that the community will be able to access comprehensive reproductive health services, which are currently offered at Safe Space as well as referrals to the KMET Clinic to access services for malnourished pre- schoolchildren.    Individuals will also be able to access salon, catering and tailoring services at the Safe Space complex, which will help less fortunate adolescent girls to secure a financially sustainable future.
Safe Space is located along the Katuoro Road, Nyalenda-Kisumu.
